Gibson's legendary Les Pauls of the late 1950s were known for their beautifully figured flame maple tops. Today's Les Paul Standard Premium Plus takes the concept to another level. It starts with a stunning AAA-grade, highly figured, flame maple top that is mounted on a chambered mahogany body with a cherry finish and adorned with single-ply binding. The neck is crafted from a single piece of mahogany, then hand-sanded to perfection and given Gibson's traditional '50s rounded profile. It is topped by a rosewood fingerboard, with Gibson's classic pearloid trapezoid inlays. The rest of this spectacular instrument is outfitted with nickel hardware, and two of Gibson's most popular pickups: Burstbucker Pros with Alnico V magnets and wax potting. Together, these pickups deliver Gibson's vintage "Patent Applied For" punch. They are both carefully hand-wound at Gibson USA in Nashville, Tennessee.
