Ibanez has had a long history dating back all the way to the early 1900's from it's early roots with the Hoshino Gakki company all the way up to the 80's working with popular artists such as Steve Vai. In the late 1970s/early 1980s, Hoshino Gakki entered the superstrat market with the popular RG series which eventually led to higher quality SR Prestige Series and the budget priced GRG Series.
